Ishan had already applied once, unaided, and been turned down. He came to Surbhi with less than ten days until his Round 2 deadlines, LBS among them. His career goals were broad. His story was underweighted. He needed structure — not encouragement.
The work
Goals came first. Short-term and long-term paths were separated and pressure-tested against a single standard: could each be credible and ambitious in the same sentence? From there, past experiences, motivations and future ambitions were realigned into one coherent story that made sense of the reapplication rather than hiding it. The career goals essay was shaped line by line. Under compressed deadlines, the process stayed structured. Assumptions were challenged. Nothing was flattered into place.
